It sounds like you met the April 30th deadline to enter into a contract but unfortunately you must close the sale by June 30th to qualify for the home-buyer tax credit, so if you are not going to be able to close until July I think you are out of luck.

I am not aware of any other federal tax credits that may be of help...Some States have their own incentive programs so you may want to look into that..

		<description>We signed a contract to have a new home built before April 30, 2010 but it still under construction and will not close until the end of July 2010.  Can we still apply for the first time homebuyer tax credit?  If not is there any other credit that we can apply for?</description>

		<description>Darn, I closed on my house January 15th, and I mailed my tax documents a few weeks ago with a copy of the HUD-1 statement. However, the personal copy I have doesn&#039;t have the bank&#039;s signature on it, it was a foreclosure. It does have the attorney&#039;s signature along with mine though. I hope this won&#039;t be a problem :(</description>
